Yes, things would have certainly been different indeed. For one, the matter of the pixies would be gone completely. Because they like Hazel and how she first reacted with them, the children would have helped her out. But then they would use their wiles to make everyone else present forget they were there. This being taken care of, the children would have then headed back to Klivcov to let the authorities know what happened, who would then clean up any loose ends.
Obviously, this whole process was mucked up when Hazel wasn't affected. Whether this is good or bad...we'll see.
